It is pretty clear to many the sheer quantity of resources it takes to supply meat to market as we know it is impacting greatly on our environment, pockets and general well-being of both the consumer and the animals farmed to produce meat based products.
To produce 1kg of meat requires between 5,000 and 20,000 litres of water whereas to produce 1kg of wheat requires between 500 and 4,000 litres of water
